In fact this conclusion is trivial: After many years of business process analysis and optimization used to improve nearly all subprocesses in product development, the really significant potentials for increase of efficiency now lie within the internal and external interfaces of organization and processes.

 

In most cases the responsibility for processes, management and products ends exactly at these interfaces. There are different views, priorities, ways of communication, systems and often even the business targets of both interface partners are not the same.
